Review: Lie No More by Lisa Cullen. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lie No More by Lisa Cullen

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

All I needed was a fresh start.
And every new beginning starts with a healthy dose of revenge.

When my ex cheated on me, I vowed to get back at him the only way I know how – by seducing his three best friends, the school bullies.

Xander is the handsome Ivy League bound rich boy. No girl can resist his cold demeanor, and his icy presence only draws me in closer.

Class clown Bryce may be funny, but he’s also a star footballer bully every girl at the school covets for his gorgeous looks and intimidating physical size.

And then there’s Dane, the school’s bad boy whose razor-like snark makes his tongue almost as sharp as his chiseled cheekbones.

There’s just one growing problem with my carefully constructed plan for vengeance…

A surprise gift from one of the men that will change my life… forever.

Lie No More

High school reverse harem bully standalone!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 🩵🖤💜❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏🌍
Character development: ☺️😆😎😚🥰

The heroine: Jade Wells – she is a senior in high school, and just started public school in for senior year. She had attended an elite private school for the last three years, but now she changed everything about herself, including going by her middle name. She wanted revenge on her ex-boyfriend Owen for cheating on her. She was planning to get it through his three best friends, the bullies of Coldwater high school. As Hannah, she was a coward and since she rebranded herself as Jade, she was determined to be tough and to seduce Owen’s three best friends and get her revenge.

The Heroes: Bryce Fisher, – he is a star football player, and known as the funny one and he is a flirt. He has shaggy blond hair and brown eyes, with the build of an athletic god.
Xander Townsend – Cultured, cold, and calculating; he is broody and aloof. He is a rich boy whose family could have afforded to send him to private school, but he chose to attend public school. He has short, light brown, styled hair, and blue eyes, and is as handsome as a runway model.
Dane Schwartz – he is the school bad boy, handsome with longish black hair and dark eyes to match. He is smart but couldn’t care less about school and often skips class. He was even held back a year for failing his classes.

The Story: Jade didn’t really think out her revenge plan very well. Her basic plan was to just get the guys to like her, hang out with them a bit and take pictures of them together that she could post on her social media to get back at Owen. See Owen hadn’t just cheated on her once, he did it the entire time they were together and even with her friends. He also chipped away at her self-esteem with the way he talked to her and with little digs about her body and personality. It turned out that his three friends had noticed that Owen was growing apart from them and had some traits that even they didn’t appreciate.

Jade never expected to be so attracted to the guys or to get into any kind of sexual relationship with any of them. Though it wasn’t long before she was in deep with all three of them. I liked the fact that though there were plenty of intimate scenes between Jade and the guys, there was a decent storyline as well and it showed her getting to know each of the guys. I liked that the guys were all different and even from different social circles. Dane grew up in a trailer park and was the product of a pretty terrible childhood, while Bryce was middle class with a loving family and older brothers that bullied him as well. Xander was wealthy with parents that were never around and when they were, treated him more like a colleague than a son.

I love that this was a standalone, which you just don’t find enough of in the reverse-harem genre or in the bully romance trope. Lately, I have just not felt like getting involved in a three or four book story. I’ve just wanted something I can pick up and finish in the same day. The one thing I didn’t like was the fact that Jade was a “curvy” girl. I mean it is hard enough to believe in many romances that the hot, muscular guy will go for the overweight girl, but in this one, she not only dated the hottest guy in her old school, but now the three hottest guys in this new school were obsessed with her. It just isn’t something that happens in real life, so though it is a nice thought that hot, handsome guys go for chubby girls, it is just not something you ever really see.
