Audiobook Review: Right Man, Right Time (The Vancouver Agitators, #3). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Right Man, Right Time by Meghan Quinn

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Running into your ex is never ideal.

Running into your ex who is now dating your nemesis is a literal nightmare.

That’s how I found myself in a sheer panic, reaching for the closest guy at the bar and kissing him. And to my delight he was easily the most attractive man I’ve ever seen.

The only problem is, when I tried to walk away after thanking him for his help, he stopped me with three life-changing words….

“You owe me.”

That’s how I found myself, a college girl, in a fake relationship with a professional hockey player ten years older than me.

At first it was easy.

He helped me with my internship.

I helped keep his ex away from him.

We were becoming fast friends.

It wasn’t until he started staying the night at my dorm did the rules of our arrangement become complicated.

Now my feelings are involved and even though I kissed the right man at the right time, I’m worried he’s just waiting for the clock to run out.

Right Man, Right Time

Great characters and terrific duet narration!

The heroine: Ollie Owens – She is nearly in her senior year of college, majoring in Journalism and has been working as an intern all summer. At the beginning of the summer her boyfriend broke up with her and she just found out that he is now dating her work nemesis. In response, she picks a random guy and tells them he is her new boyfriend and they have been having great sex. She goes over and asks him to pretend to be her boyfriend.

The Hero: Silas Taters – He is a star right wing on the Vancouver Agitators pro hockey team. He finds his girlfriend cheating on him with both a woman and a man, in his bed no less. He finds out she has been cheating on him for a long time and kicks her to the curb. However, months later when he finds out that she got a job with the Agitators, he is disturbed to come across her.

The Story: when a beautiful girl asks him to pretend to be her boyfriend to make her ex jealous, he plays along, then tells her she owes him. He decides to make her his fake girlfriend so when he has to go to a work outing where his ex-girlfriend will be, it will be easier for him. Ollie sees the benefit of being fake dating and the two come to an agreement, though they specify some rules, including no sex. The two get to know each other and really like each other despite their ten-year age difference (she’s 21 and he is 31).

I really liked the fact that these two got to know each other pretty well before they got intimate. There were parts of this book that were hilarious, especially the strange story that Ollie comes up with about how they met. It isn’t long before the chemistry between them heats up and it isn’t helped by all of their talk about sex. Ollie is pretty funny and seems a lot more grown up than many 21-year-olds. I really liked her attitude and fearlessness.

This audiobook was told in multiple points of view via duet narration and was narrated by Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter. These are two of my favorite narrators. Jason has a deep smoky voice and is great at showing emotion through his voice. He sounds so sexy, especially when dirty talking and during the intimate scenes. Stella has a youthful, soft voice which is extremely pleasant, and she sounds perfect for Ollie.
