Bloodshed by Molly Doyle
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
We like to believe monsters don’t exist, even in the moonlit streets of a place like Salem, Massachusetts. But they’re very real… and very human. There’s danger lurking around every corner. People are vanishing off the street into thin air, never to be seen again.
Blooodshed
The masked men have their own secrets. But it isn’t until the night that they all come together when true horror is born.
College student Quinn did not expect her Halloween night to take a dangerous turn. When her masked men swoop in and make her a proposition, she can only promise one night.
Dark and steamy Halloween romance!

The heroine: Quinn – she is a typical girl. In middle and high school, she was seriously bullied so bad that she couldn’t have a computer or go on social media because it was so bad. Mean girls constantly told her that her father killed himself because she was born and much worse. Years later, she is in college and had started over and was determined to never let her bullies affect her again.
The Heroes: Damien, Jensen, Micah – they each grew up in their own personal hell and they are now in the mysterious Order (of the Unseen). They are given the job of protecting Quinn and they follow her for five years, protecting her from the shadows without her knowing. They want to keep her innocent until one Halloween night when they can no longer stay in the shadows and come forth to claim her as theirs.
The Story: Quinn was at a college party on Halloween night when she is assaulted on the dance floor. Suddenly a tall figure with dark mask beats the man to a pulp, protecting her and she is soon hooking up with the man in a super steamy interlude, where she finds out that his two friends were watching the whole time. She later comes face to face with one of her old bullies, where the three men protect her and claim her as theirs.
This was a dark romance that tried to be even grittier and darker than it turned out to be. Some of the terrible things that happened seemed to be exaggerated for effect to make this even darker than it needed to be. The steamy scenes were sizzling hot, and the guys were dominant and liked it rough. There were also some MM scenes and menage scenes. Some of it was a bit unbelievable, like the fact that Damien couldn’t finish with a woman except when he did it with Quinn. I guess I just didn’t connect with these characters as much as I’d like to in a romance book.
This audiobook was told in multiple points of view via duet narration and was narrated by Von Necros, Corvin King, Ken Murdock, and Autumn Ivy. Autumn Ivy has a pleasant feminine voice which I really liked, and the men all did a great job. They had deep voices which were all very sexy. I loved the fact that this was done in duet narration with some background sounds as well. The only thing was that the background sounds were a bit unrealistic. There was one scene where Damien was forced by his father to cut off a finger of a man they were torturing, and it sounded crunchy instead of like a bone was being clipped. Then when he stabbed the guy, it sounded like he was stabbing a bag of potato chips.
