Audiobook Review: Storm of Sin by Patricia D. Eddy. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Storm of Sin by Patricia D. Eddy

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

My crimes are legion. My sentence eternal.
Hell fractured my soul into dust and left me broken, yet I deserved so much worse.
Finally free from Lucifer’s endless torment, I must atone.
But the lives I took and the pain I caused haunt me every day.
Half angel, half demon, but nowhere near whole.
Until I meet her.
I should not want Zoe Dawes, but she whispers her desires in my dreams and chases away my nightmares.
When an ancient evil returns, only I can stop him. But if I do, I risk losing everything—including the woman who reminds me what it is to feel. To live.
Zoe is mine. And nothing will keep us apart.
I work for the Bureau of the Occult and the Other and Zoe is my my partner.
My name is Sinclair.
But you can call me Sin.

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙❤️💚💜
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌎
Character development: 😊😘😟😄
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Zoe Dawes – she has been a detective for six months when she is taken hostage than shot by her partner. She is forced to kill him and the whole thing is odd. Before she took the shot, he begged her to do it, saying he couldn’t fight “him” anymore. Zoe has always believed in the supernatural world since her grandmother told her about the other. Though she is seen as a bit crazy when she mentioned to her therapist that it seemed like her partner was possessed.

The Hero: Sinclair (a.k.a. Sin) – He is mostly an incubus demon, who was banished to the mortal world and works for the Bureau of the Occult and the Other (B.O.O.). He is one of the most powerful of demons and is a bit bored with life, though heaven is also kind of droll, so he gets his kicks from his work and from feeding.

The Story: Zoe is very intelligent and a good detective and is offered a place in the Bureau of the Occult and the Other. Sin is her partner, and he sees something other than human when he first sees her. Zoe is not a fan of Sin when they first meet. It doesn’t help that he arrives at a murder scene late and he is a pretty boy with a cocky attitude and a fast car.

I liked the premise on this one as it is pretty original. The agents try to solve other on other crime and it is pretty interesting. A bit X-files, though they both believe. I liked it quite a bit. Especially when it is found that Sin’s past is connected to the murder they are working on. It also has some relation to what happened to Zoe’s partner, so both of them are invested in the investigation. There is chemistry between the two main characters from the start and I like that Sin has some morals and lives by a code.

This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Jason Clarke and Maxine Mitchell. Jason is one of my favorite male narrators, he has a deep and gravelly voice which is sexy, and he is a great voice actor. Maxine does a good job as well and voice really does anxiety perfectly. She has this slight waver to her voice at times which sounds like someone who is nervous or fearful.
