Review: Fierce Cyborg (Bound by Her, #4). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fierce Cyborg by Nellie C. Lind

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

ONLY DEATH CAN STOP HIM FROM TRYING

Can’t find Mr. Right? Why not create him? MedAct is the company that can make all your dreams come true! Just give them a call and let them create the perfect man for you. But remember, you can never give him up. It will kill him, literally.

Jade Silva, the CEO of MedAct, the medical and scientific company that creates cyborgs, knows something fishy is going on behind her back. She doesn’t know what, but she suspects one of her own doctors is involved.

Confronting the doctor might not be one of her brightest ideas, but she does it anyway, only to end up in the hands of the Fighters—the dangerous and damaged cyborgs who survived the deaths of their bound ones. Not only that, they want her to save Nightmare’s life, their leader, but also her enemy … and the love of her life.

Fierce Cyborg

Some big surprises in this one!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙🖤💚💜
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍🌎
Character development: 😔😃😤🥰😘

The Hero: Nightmare (a.k.a. Zero) – He was the first cyborg and was named Zero; he was created 50 years ago and along with his three brothers were the first four cyborgs. Back then, there was no such thing as a bond. When they cyborgs revolted because of how they were treated, Dr. Carolyn Williams, the founder of MedAct created the bond. After Zero’s three brothers were killed, she bound him to her and performed experiments on him all day and used him to fulfill her sick sexual fantasies at night. He hated her for creating the bond and fought against it until he escaped.

The heroine: Dr. Jade Silva – she is the current CEO of the MedAct corporation. She was fascinated with cyborgs since she was a child and knew then that she wanted to dedicate her life to them. Though she is the CEO of MedAct, she is a bit naïve and doesn’t know everything that is going on within her company. She doesn’t really even know much about XenthAid, the place cyborgs fighters who get caught and don’t want to be bound are sent to live out their lives in peace. But something was wrong within her company and some of the doctors were going behind her back to get things done that she hadn’t approved.

The Story: Zero changed his name to Nightmare after escaping and when Carolyn died, he learned the truth about the bond. That as soon as their bound one dies, it turns into a poison which kills the cyborg. He was able to survive though and has since found a way to stop the poison from killing cyborgs whose bound one dies. Though it only works if he gets to them soon enough. Those cyborgs are known as the fighters, and he is working with them and a few others to get rid of the bond to free all cyborgs.

They found a clue to getting rid of the bond and they think the answer is in the failed female cyborg program. Nightmare and some of his top people went to a MedAct warehouse to steal the things they need to create a female cyborg. However, he was shot in the head and has been in a coma ever since. Jade was distraught to find out that Nightmare had been shot since she had told the cyborg soldiers many times that he wasn’t to be harmed.

I didn’t think I would like this story, because even though I had an idea that Jade knew nothing about the bond being poison or some of the other things going on in her company, I had a feeling that even though she was CEO, she wouldn’t be able to do much about it. Though I did like Jade as a person from the other books, and I liked Nightmare. Though I think the description of him in previous books as such a dark and scary cyborg were somewhat exaggerated, especially since he cared so much about all the other fighters and cyborgs like he did. There was one scene where he did something really dark, but other than that he wasn’t dangerous in this book.

There were some huge surprises in this story, though it did take longer to really get to the good stuff than the previous few books. I have really liked the ongoing storylines in this series. It definitely has to be read in order. I ended up liking the book quite a bit, though not as much as the last two books.
