Review: Kissed Cyborg (Bound by Her, #3). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Kissed Cyborg by Nellie C. Lind

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

HOW ABOUT ANOTHER KISS?

Can’t find Mr. Right? Why not create him? MedAct is the company that can make all your dreams come true! Just give them a call and let them create the perfect man for you. But remember, you can never give him up. It will kill him, literally.

Faye never intended to bind the Fighter, Silver. She kissed him to save her best friend’s cyborg, but the contact initiated the bond. When they come face to face again, she wants to be set free. She never wanted a cyborg, and nothing will change her mind, not even Silver’s attractive appearance and charming personality.

The last thing Silver wants is to be bound to the feisty and annoying little Faye. He hates her for kissing him, but the bond gives him no choice but to love her. Unless the Fighters figure out how to remove the bond, he’s stuck with her for the rest of his life, and he refuses to accept the bond—or Faye.

Kissed Cyborg

Danger, romance and some great action!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙🖤💚💜
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍🌎
Character development: 😔😃😤🥰😘

The Hero: Faye – she is best friends with Phoebe from Her Cyborg. She owns two businesses in the design and marketing fields which have done well enough for her to afford a nice home in Glaswell. She has had bad luck with men, but unlike her friend Phoebe, she hasn’t really given any thought to getting a cyborg for herself. She is a tiny little dynamo at 5’2” and thin, she is smaller than most, but she makes up for it in her distinctive feisty personality.

The heroine: Silver – he is a cyborg and the woman he was bound to died. That is when he learned that the bond is really a poison that is set to go off in a cyborg’s system and kill them when their bound mate dies. Since he didn’t die from the poison, he has been one of the fighters; working with Nightmare to find a way to destroy the bond for good. All the fighters feel an intense need to bond to a new female. Though if they do that, they are right back in the situation they were in before. They would outlive their bound one and the bond poison would be released again at her death.

The Story: Faye went with her friends to help them out when the Fighters kidnapped Phoebe and though Faye was told that any intimate act, even a kiss would start to initiate the bond, she couldn’t think of anything to do when the fighters were beating on Phoebe’s Cyborg, Shade. So, she kissed Silver and his eyes flashed, initiating the bonding process. He now is slowly going crazy because he needs to complete the bonding. He is locked up at the underground hideout of the fighters. Faye feels guilty and has agreed to complete the bond. Though she doesn’t know what all is entailed.

This book had a really good set-up and premise. I liked both Faye and Silver from the previous books. Silver was a huge flirt, because that was all he could do with women since he didn’t want to be bonded again. Though he has a sarcastic and snarky attitude that I really liked. I also feel for him because he hates Faye for initiating the bond, but knows that once they are bonded, he will love her as well. The thought of hating her while loving her, with that resentment building up is not something he wants. He can only hope that Nightmare with the help of Celise from Loved Cyborg will find a way to destroy the bond without killing the cyborgs.

I originally thought this would be a very unequal relationship since we knew from the start that Silver would both love and hate Faye. Though what I didn’t know was that since he was bonded to her and loved her, he wanted her to love him in return and so it hurt him that she didn’t. Of course, the bond has some kind of chemical reaction in the cyborgs that makes them immediately and completely in love with their female once the bond is solidified. The human females usually love their cyborgs from the time they create them, also because they are lonely and looking for love. Though Faye is different since she just kissed Silver to get him to stop beating Shade.

“Once the third and final flash had happened, his feelings for her had exploded like fireworks in his chest. Silver had gone from finding her annoying but cute to the most beautiful woman in the whole world.”

“There was nothing worse for a cyborg but a bound one who didn’t fully love him. Faye didn’t have any feelings for him except the feeling of responsibility, and it slowly killed him on the inside.”

Each book in this series is furthering the overarching theme of the fighters and their quest to do away with the bond so that they don’t have to die when they are bonded to someone. They want to be able to get close to women, be intimate and fall in love without fear of dying. They have figured out that what they are looking for is within the failed female cyborg program so are determined to create a female cyborg and see if they can find the answers they seek. It is a good storyline and there is danger, some mystery and some great action.
