All I Want
All I Want
Right time. Right place. Right woman.
I was blowing off steam when a guys’ trip led to a hot fling.
She was exactly what I needed for our ten days together.
I said I’d never fall in love.
I said I’d never get attached.
We were never supposed to see each other again.
We were never supposed to be anything more.
But when she comes back into my life, I remind myself of one thing:
Wrong place. Wrong time. Wrong man.
Vacation romance!

Character development: 😔😃😤🥰
The Hero: Rod Stone (a.k.a. Hot Rod) – his father left when he was a kid. His sister was 10 years younger than him and very sick at the time. His father left to go buy medicine but never returned, leaving only a note saying not to look for him. Rod hated his father after that, and his family struggled to make ends meet. He learned everything there was to learn about computer programming and was determined to make something of himself.
The heroine: Daisy Nash – she is a teacher who just moved into a new home in Atlanta and is about to start a new job after her ten-day vacation with her friend. She thinks about cancelling so she can unpack her house, but her friend talks her out of always being so responsible and gets her to go and try to have a good time.
The Story: Rod is now rich and single. He and his friends are on a guys’ trip to a singles resort in the Caribbean. All of the guys are big time players and are there to score with the ladies. He immediately makes a play for Daisy when they first meet, and his tacky line turns her off just as fast. Though he does apologize the following day. He can’t seem to get her off of his mind from the first time he sees her.
Ok, I have to say it. What was the author thinking of with that name? Rod Stone? Could it be any worse? Though he does live up to his name with that tacky come on he gives to Daisy. He seems like a bit of a loser when we first see him at the resort, though he does grow on you. One thing about this that I disliked was the fact that at the costume party where Daisy was dressed as Harley Quinn and Rod was Captain America, she didn’t recognize him because his hair and part of his face had a mask. That is one of my biggest pet peeves, how people don’t recognize other people in a superhero mask.
I really like vacation romance novels, since I so rarely get to go away to anywhere warm and tropical like that, I like to live vicariously through my books. What could be better than an all-inclusive Caribbean beach resort? It is my idea of heaven. Though the book was a bit too much of a slow burn for me. The couple didn’t actually hook up until nearly half the book was over and they had been on many dates which is very slow considering they are at a singles resort in paradise drinking and having fun.
