Nuclear Option by Giulia Lagomarsino
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
The exciting and thrilling conclusion to Cash and Eva’s story, and the second book in the OPS series!
Nuclear Option
The military defines a Nuclear Option as a drastic step or last resort, and I’m about to take it.
Cash
I am an expert marksman, engaging the enemy from afar.
You’ll never see me coming because I’m that good.
Even a sniper can be drawn out of hiding.
Pull the right strings and eventually you’ll see my face.
But it’ll be the last thing you ever do.
I take warnings for what they actually are—a threat of war.
I will defend those I love and the team I surround myself with.
I will use my specialized training to take you down.
I will make you regret ever coming after me.
There is no world in which I exist that I’ll let you live.
Special Ops training gave me the tools I needed to be an effective weapon in special recon, infiltration, and target acquisition—to name a few.
I’m ruthless, fearless, and I will stop you at all costs.
Power won’t help you when you come up against me.
Intimidation is laughable.
And threatening the woman I love is the worst mistake you ever made.
Awesome characters and lots of action!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙🖤💚💜❤️

Character development: 😔😃😤🥰😘
The Hero: Cash Owens – he was a Marine sniper who opened his own security company when he got out of the military. He is the owner of Owens Protective Services (OPS). Recently the firm did a job where they were supposed to do protection for a company that was testing out a new technology that was attached to an airplane. They were supposed to be on the ground protecting their assets at the airfield. Though it turned out the people they were protecting were domestic terrorists and they ended up dropping a graphite bomb on a power station which took out all the power on the west coast.
The heroine: Eva James – she was on the run from drug dealers and a governor after mistakenly driving onto a farm that was being used as a heroine distribution center. While working as a janitor at a research office building for cash, she happened to be there when it was robbed by five men in trench coats on the night the power grid failed. Now her boss wants her to tell what she knows about the five men, four of the men want her dead and the people from her past that were chasing her are still out to kill her.
The Story: The last book ended on a huge cliffhanger. Cash now knows all of Eva’s secrets including her real name and he is trying his best to save her from everyone that is after her. Though it seems all the groups that are after her are very well funded and have unlimited resources. This one really started out with a ton of action and danger, and it just didn’t stop. I loved it so much!
Though many of the characters are somewhat like the characters of the Reed Security Series, they were even a bit crazier, which I love. Even after 28 books in that series, I just didn’t get enough of it, so I am more than happy that this series is so similar and I hope this series will end up with just as many, if not more books.
There are so many characters that I want to get to know better. I want all of their secrets and want them all to find love. Even some of the ‘bad’ guys, like Rafe are so interesting. I have to know the backstory of him and Cash. Personally, and this is just a wild guess, but I bet he is Cash’s brother, or even twin brother. Though I have to say there is no reason for me to think that, especially since they seem to not care if they kill each other. I can’t wait to find out.
