Bachelor Beast by Grace Goodwin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Warlord Wulf thought nothing could be worse than being tortured and contaminated by the Hive. That was before he’s ordered to transport to Earth and represent The Colony in an unfamiliar horror… a human reality show. The Bachelor Beast is the hottest new program on Earth, but being set up with two dozen clingy females is not his idea of a good time. When his Beast refuses to show the slightest interest in any of the show’s potential mates, he knows he must choose one or die due to his raging mating fever.
Bachelor Beast
His Beast prefers execution to claiming anyone but his true mate. Wulf is resigned to his fate, a one-way trip to Atlan, a prison cell and execution. It is the only honorable thing left to do.
Until one glance, one sweet, feminine scent lingering in the air and his beast rages for a female who is not supposed to be his.
But try telling that to his Beast when his entire body transforms on live television and one simple word thunders from his lips…MINE.
Much better than I expected!

The heroine: Olivia – she was a makeup artist on the Bachelor Beast reality television show. She did the makeup for the women who were competing to win the heart of an Atlan male. She would have liked to be a contestant or even just apply for the Interstellar Brides program, but she couldn’t because she was raising her niece and nephew since her brother died.
The Hero: Wulf – he was an Atlan male, which meant he had a beast inside him that came out when he met his mate. He had agreed to come to Earth to be the bachelor for the reality television show because he wanted to help get more women from Earth to sign up for the Interstellar Brides program for all the males on the Colony to be matched. He was told the reality show would accomplish that goal. He had been matched once, but his Interstellar Bride had decided after the 30 day trial period, to return to Earth and since then Wulf had been suffering from mating fever.
The Story: Wulf knew that none of the females on the reality show were his mate. He was down to the last two women, and he was planning on not choosing either of them since his beast wouldn’t be happy with anyone but his true mate. He knew that if he didn’t find his mate, he was going to have to return to Atlan and be executed but he would rather do that than choose someone not his mate. However, he sees Olivia and immediately knows she is his mate.
I originally didn’t want to pick this book up because of the whole reality television/bachelor storyline but was glad to see that the story wasn’t focused on the tv show, but started when they were filming the final episode. I never liked The Bachelor show, so the storyline didn’t really appeal to me. However, I liked this story, and I liked the fact that Olivia was struggling to raise her brothers’ kids and pay off his debt to a drug dealer. The one thing I didn’t like was the fact that she was overweight and had very low self-esteem because of it.
This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Tor Thom and Mia Sloane. Tor Thom is great; he has a super deep voice which is perfect for the seven-foot-tall alien with a beast inside. This was my first time listening to Mia Sloane and I really liked her youthful sounding voice. It was very pleasant, and she did a terrific job.
