Audiobook Review: Charming as Puck (Copper Valley Thrusters, #4). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Charming as Puck by Pippa Grant

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The man could charm the panties off of a nun…

Nick Murphy. Hockey god. My best friend’s big brother. My friend-with-mindblowing-benefits. The best thing to happen to my nether regions since my subscription to the toy of the month club. The man I’ve been secretly in love with for years.

And total ass.

I am so done with him.

Except there’s one small problem.

Now that I’ve cut him off, his hockey game is in the toilet. He’s convinced I’m his good luck charm, and he wants me back. But only for his game.

I’ll be strong. I will. I’ll resist.

Asses don’t change their stripes.

Or do they?

This plan would be so easy if the man wasn’t Charming as Puck…

Charming as Puck is a romping fun romance between a hockey player and his sister’s best friend, complete with farm animals, over the top birthday presents, and Berger Twin sightings. This romantic comedy stands alone with no cheating or cliffhangers and ends with a pucking awesome happily ever after.

The Hero: Nick – he is a professional hockey player for the Copper Valley Thrusters and is brother to Felicity from Beauty and the Beefcake. In that book, he was a great guy, but was over the top protective of his younger sister, though he kind of had reason to be since she always attracted losers. Nick would threaten them, fight them and prank them to get them to leave Felicity alone.

The heroine: Kami – she is one of Felicity’s best friends and has been in love with Nick Murphy for years. They have been sleeping together for a while, but she is tired of being his booty call and is done with it. She had been hoping for more with Nick. Though when he forgot her birthday, even after a hint from her, she finally realized he would never see her as anything more than a convenience.

The Story: After breaking things off with Nick, Kami was in a mood and signed up with a dating service owned by her cousin Muffy. While Nick was not able to focus on his hockey games, the team was losing, and it was his fault since he is the goalie and had been letting too many pucks get by him. It isn’t long before he sees the connection between losing Kami and his performance on the ice. Not only that but he really misses her in his life.

I liked this story even more than the last book. The prank war between Nick and the Berger brothers was absolutely hilarious and there were a ton of great things going on in this book. There were great supporting characters including many of the characters from the previous books, and a bunch of terrific animals, including a bunch of dogs and a cow named Sugarbear.

This audiobook was done in dual points of view via dual narration. It was narrated by Jason Clarke and Savannah Peachwood. These are two of my favorite narrators. Jason has a deep and gravelly voice that works for any type of romantic Hero. Savannah has a clear, feminine voice and is great at showing emotion through her voice. Both do a great job on this one.
