Celestial Mates—Romancing the Galaxy…
Mated to the Cyborg General
One moment, completely human and modern-day Carrie Morgan is crocheting in her living room. The next second, a peach alien claiming to be a Celestial Mates agent transports her and her dog four hundred years into the future. He leaves her there to be discovered by her supposed fated mate – a blue-skinned cyborg general.
The sly agent failed to mention a few things, like the fact humans and cyborgs are at war with each other! She’s certain Freydon Rote is crazy, but as she gets to know the cyborg general, she realizes maybe there’s something to the claim that DVS84 is meant to be her mate.
Passionate nights further convince her that perhaps she’s in the right place at the right time to find her happy ending – if she survives all the challenges of her new environment.
Dystopian cyborg story!

Character development: 😟🤭😤😘🥰
The heroine: Carrie – one night as she was sitting at home crocheting, an alien named Freydon Rote popped into her living room. She couldn’t move or scream, and the alien told her that he was from the Celestial Mates Agency, which works outside space and time to find matches all over the universe and bring together mates. He disabled her ability to move and speak so she wouldn’t run away screaming, he packed for Carrie and her black lab, Penny and told her they had to leave immediately. Freydon teleported them out of Carries living room and left her and Penny in the future where her mate, the General would be along shortly.
The Hero: General DVS84 (a.k.a. Davis) – he is a cyborg and a general. The cyborgs hate humans for their bigotry and the way they treated cyborgs as machines instead of sentient beings. Celestial Mates Agent Freydon Rote told DVS where to meet in order to get a weapon that would end the war between humans and cyborgs.
The Story: DVS was surprised when he and his team showed up to meet the Celestial Mates agent for some sort of weapon and found a human woman and her pet instead. He was even more surprised when she immediately fainted and he caught her instead of just letting her fall, given the way he felt about humans. He had some sort of deep need to protect her though and wasn’t sure where those feelings were coming from.
When Carrie wakes up, DVS finds out that she is from the early twenty first century. He tells her that it is now 2448 and goes on to explain the history of the war between cyborgs and humans. It seems the creator of cyborgs used actual humans and bonded human and machine on a cellular level. Though the cyborgs were treated as machines, so no humans wanted to volunteer for the procedure. They used the military and eventually the dead. When the cyborgs revolted, that same inventor created Synths (synthetic humans) who had no emotions and follow all orders. The cyborgs have been fighting the Synths for generations now. Parts of Earth have become a wasteland.
The story about the war is a good one, I liked the fact that it was unpredictable, and some things happened that really surprised me. I also liked the characters, there were some great supporting characters as well and I loved the inclusion of the dog Penny. I did feel the story ended a bit abruptly and would have liked more of a conclusion but overall, the book was a good one.
