Audiobook Review: Claimed by the Cyborgs (Interstellar Brides: The Colony, #9). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Claimed by the Cyborgs by Grace Goodwin

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Prillon warrior Thomar Arcas is the royal heir to his ancestor’s legacy of dishonor, betrayal and death. When he was captured by the Hive, some on his home world cheered. Some sighed with relief. None shed a tear.

Thomar, along with his second, Varin, break free and destroy an enemy base, barely escaping with their lives. They transport to The Colony, the last refuge for contaminated males. Upon arrival they suffer in agony, their cyborg implants fighting for control of the powerful warriors.

Defeat is not in their blood. Not in their history. Not in their souls. Unable to sever their ties to the Hive implants, and suffering unrelenting pain, the warriors are about to choose an honorable death over further disgrace; until they are matched to a human female from Earth who very much needs their broken pieces to make herself whole. A female whom they crave with an intensity that just might pull them back from the brink of death.

Danika Gray left Earth to start a new life. With every touch, every kiss, every moment in their arms she finds herself closer to the paradise she seeks. But how can she free her new mates from endless torment? Fight an enemy she cannot see?

Love and passion are her only weapons. Lust. Desire. She must surrender everything she is —give in to their insatiable hunger—in order to save them.

Even that might not be enough…

Beautiful savior!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙❤️💚💜
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌎
Character development: 🙃😊😉🥰
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Danika – she was a criminal and decided to sign up for the Interstellar Brides program in lieu of remaining in jail. She came from a small town and was immediately matched to a Prillon male warrior as her primary, that male will choose a second and she will be mated to both warriors. Danika had been in jail for over 7 years and was more than ready for two mates.

The Heroes: Thomar and Varin – Thomar suffered greatly while he and Varin were captured by the Hive. The Hive used their mating collars against them to see how much torture they could handle, and they both had extensive integrations with hive technology. When they reached the Colony, Thomar was out of control and only Dr. Surnen could help bring him back. Thomar and Varin had only just gotten away from the Hive when they were matched with Danika.

The Story: Thomar didn’t think he was capable of controlling himself and feared for his mate. He did not want to have a legacy of having hurt a human female. Thomar wanted to unlink himself from Varin so Varin could take their mate and get a new second. That would kill Thomar, so Danika rebelled against that and put on her collar so she could feel their pain. She decided that her and Varin would change Thomar’s mind.

This story was super steamy and I really liked the characters. There was more information on the kinds of things the Hive was doing to some of their captives. The world building was terrific, and I really like the world of the Colony. Though I kind of wish there was a bit more emphasis on the things the Hive tech did for the cyborgs (it is tech and it sometimes makes the male stronger, but I wish it was all explained a bit better).

This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration. It was narrated by Tor Thom and Avery Reid. Tor Thom is one of my favorite male narrators. He has a deep, almost otherworldly sounding voice which is perfect for alien romance. Avery Reid has a very pleasant, soft and feminine voice which sounds age appropriate for Danika.
