Review: B Free (Rebel Cyborgs, #4). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

B Free by Cynthia Sax

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

B is the last remaining B Model cyborg. All of his brethren, the beings he trained with, fought with, cared deeply for, have perished.

Or so he believes.

When he intercepts a communication mentioning the existence of one of his kind, he has to investigate the source. The message could be a trap set by his enemies. He’ll take that risk if it secures him the companionship he requires to be fully functional.

What he finds is a daring human female who activates all his systems. She proudly proclaims she’s a historian, brandishing that information like a weapon before her. He wants to kiss the sass off her beautiful face, protect her from the dangers around them, claim her forever.

Quinn is on a quest to locate the mechanics of an early version cyborg. She believes the information captured within that frame will give her valuable insights into the past.

When her mission goes zombie-like beings levels of wrong, she comes face-to-face with a living, breathing B Model. He has big hands, a primitive countenance, and stern hard lips crafted for kissing.

She doesn’t trust him. He might be working for her competitor. Historians can be a tricksy bunch. And she doesn’t have time to indulge her desires.

Their shared enemy wants their precious specimens back and they’re willing to kill to retrieve them. One minor mistake could reduce B and Quinn to a mere line in the databases of history.

B Free

I am 99.9999 percent in love with this series!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙🖤💜❤️💖
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍🌎
Character development: 😟🤭😤☺️🥰

The Hero: B – he is a B model cyborg, the last one, and he wasn’t fully functional. He had been a warrior in many battles for the Human Alliance and when they no longer needed him in that capacity, they tortured and experimented on him for a very long time, doing permanent damage. There were gaps in his databases and in his memories from when they took slices from his organic brain. B often searched for communications about other B models, hoping to find another of his kind. He knew that another B model could fix the gaps in his timeline and make him fully functional.

The heroine: Quinn – she is a humanoid and the last of her kind. She has the power of psychometry. She studies ancient civilizations, and her power allows her to feel and see the ‘memories’ contained in objects she touches and holds. She was on Heze 478, a Human Alliance controlled planet where she was risking her life to find one of those objects that a high-ranking male had stolen from species they had destroyed.

The Story: – B overheard a communication sent by Quinn from Heze 478 about the fact that she wanted to see a B model cyborg. He knew that it could be a trap, but he was desperate to either fix the inconsistencies in his head or die trying. Either way, he knew that his suffering would soon be over. So, he set out to find Quinn.

The Humanoid Alliance had a new weapon they called The Resurrected. The Alliance planned to unleash a horde on the peaceful inhabitants of Heze 478, after all of their own humans flee the planet. Quinn’s contacts were there to try to get the Hezen humans and humanoids off the planet before being slaughtered by the resurrected warriors (Zombies). Quinn planned to use the chaos to get the only B model cyborg she knows about off the planet so she can study it. Of, course Quinn doesn’t know that B is there to assist her for his own reasons.

Cynthia Sax is really great at writing characters with a lot of individuality. Quinn was this historical researcher with anxiety and a penchant for chattering about historical facts and objects when her anxiety started getting the better of her. She was so cute and just perfect for B in so many ways. B was this mountain of a man/machine who was a bit of a grump, but riddled with self-doubt because he thought he was damaged due to missing memories and data. Quinn helped to remind him of things he was missing with her power.

I loved the fact that both of them were the last of their kinds and they ended up in a place where everyone was one of a kind. All the characters in this series are so great and I love that each mated pair has been so similar to each other in a lot of ways. Also, I have to say, in this series, I absolutely love how the cyborgs talk, how everything is about the odds, probabilities and percentages and every time they say a percentage, it is exact to four decimal places. I am 99.9876 percent in love with that!

“B pressed his lips together. There was a 99.9999 percent probability the all-knowing, all-powerful being processed everything that was and would happen.
“That probability is 100.0000 percent.” The Ruler’s tone was flat.
Fraggin’ hole. B scanned the Humanoid Alliance camp. That must mean he was missing inputs.”
