Aiden’s Awakening by Michelle Dare
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Aiden’s world was rocked when he learned paranormals existed. Since then, he’d made new friends, but every encounter only emphasized how ordinary his life was.
Aiden’s Awakening
Eighteen years was very young for a vampire. During that time, Honey hadn’t seen much. What she lacked in experience, she made up for in intelligence.
When a violent car accident happened right before Honey’s eyes, she jumped into action.
Aiden was on the brink of death. He felt himself slipping away, then someone appeared. But she didn’t rescue him. She plunged him deeper into pain and darkness.
Being made into a vampire was an excruciating experience. Once the agony receded, Aiden had to embrace his powers. He had to learn to live an entirely new life—one that was far removed from his previously mundane one.
Their relationship was forged from the choices they had to make. Their love was something they both had to fight for. What they didn’t realize was fate was testing them. They would either embrace what was right in front of them or watch as it withered away.
A vampire romance!

Romance: 💙❤️💚💜

Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌎
Character development: ☺️🙃😳🥰
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Dual Narration
The Hero: Aiden – he is the roommate of Brayden from Braydon’s Return. He is in his senior year of college and is a human that is aware of the paranormal. He has a lot of paranormal friends since Brayden was given powers by a vampire. Aiden thought about getting powers as well but didn’t know if he wanted that. His roommates both have girlfriends (Braydon has a mate) so Aiden sometimes feels like a third wheel.
The heroine: Honey – she is a vampire that lives with her parents on a farm in the middle of nowhere. She is an introvert and has a pet fox that likes to escape the house and go wandering in the woods. Her family is alone most of the time and don’t have a lot of paranormal friends, they live like humans.
The Story: On New Year Eve, Aiden is a bit annoyed at sitting around his apartment watching movies with two couples, so he goes for a drive in the snow. He just keeps driving for a while not paying attention to where he is going, when all of the sudden a fox runs into the road, and he swerves in the snow and crashes his truck. Honey sees the crash and sees that Aiden is dying. She turns him into a vampire to save him.
Aiden and Honey are attracted to each other from the start. Though they aren’t ready to see if they are fated for each other yet. Aiden introduces Honey to many of his paranormal friends, including the Avynwood pack. The supporting characters from the previous books in the series are great and I really liked both Aiden and Honey. I liked the fact that Aiden gives Honey so many new experiences since she was very sheltered growing up.
This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration. It was narrated by Sarah Colton and Troy Duran. Both of these are terrific narrators and I really like both of their voices. Sara has a youthful sounding voice, and she speaks at a nice tempo. Troy has a deep voice which is perfect for any romantic Hero, and he always does a great job.
