The Hero: Camden – he is a bisexual wolf shifter in the Avynwood pack. He has been searching for his brother Caiden for 100 years, since their parents were murdered. Caiden became part of a coalition of vampires and shifters with vampire abilities that hunt down and kill shifters, most of the coalition were taken out in the the last book in this series Ladon’s Desire. Caiden said he has killed the shifter side of himself and has basically been brainwashed to hate all shifters. The pack didn’t kill him due to his relation to Camden.

The Hero: Whitlock – he is half fae, half wolf shifter and is part of the Avynwood pack. His wolf loves to be near Cam, but Whit is insecure and afraid of rejection. His dad died in the pack wars, and his mom died four months ago when she went a bit crazy and started attacking members of her own pack and nearly killed Davian. His best friend Caspian has been there for him since his mom died. He knows he is gay but hasn’t come out to the pack yet. He is going to college for cybersecurity.

The Story: Camden is on a secret special ops team that the Avynwood pack has which train heavily and go out on missions to save shifters from things like trafficking operations, and the like. The team consists of some members of the Quivicon and Avynwood packs. Everyone on the team is mated except Camden. The Quivicon fae, Thay is on the team, and Camden knew Thay was keeping something from him after the Quivicon pack dealt with the coalition.

Camden has been captivated by Whit since Whit came to the Avynwood pack, but since his brother is still out there, he has tried to stay away and hasn’t wanted to touch him, since shifters can tell if someone is their fated mate through touch. When Camden is told about Caiden being part of the coalition, he is devastated. He decides to give up his search.

This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration. It was narrated by Dan Lewis and Troy Duran. Troy Duran is one of my favorite male narrators, his voice is deep and sexy, and I love just about anything he narrates. Dan Lewis has a softer voice but is also a terrific narrator, his voice is perfect for Whit.
