Audiobook Review: Ladon’s Desire (Paranormals of Avynwood, #8). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ladon’s Desire by Michelle Dare

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Being human while living with a pack of wolves wasn’t ideal.

Ladon wanted the connection the mated pairs had, but it was always out of his reach. One more leap into a relationship could destroy him… Or it could save him.

Belonging to the Verascue family had its benefits. As the most powerful vampires in existence, they were equally feared and admired. They were also the only family Genevieve had left.

Ladon and Gen’s friendship was comfortable and secure. Words of love weren’t voiced, even if they were felt. Until everything changed.

When death breathed down Ladon’s neck, Gen couldn’t let him go.

One bite and their bond became crystal clear. She would keep him by her side no matter the cost.

The pack was under attack. Lives were on the line. And it was up to Ladon and Gen to save them all. Together.

Ladon’s Desire

A vampire and human romance!

The Hero: Ladon – he is a human living with a pack of shifters. His mom met his stepfather, Merrick who is a shifter and found that she was his mate. Ladon is treated differently, but he sees himself someday mated to a paranormal. He has dated humans, fallen in and out of love but knows it is not for him. The fact that he could never bring a human home caused problems. He is alone and lonely, wanting to find a mate.

The heroine: Genevieve – she is a 1200-year-old vampire and part of the Verascue family, which is one of the most powerful vampire families in the world. He parents and brother died, and she inherited everything from them, so she has plenty of money, but nobody to love.

The Story: Ladon is cousin to Ari from the previous books in this series. She calls him and asks him to come to Avynwood pack to babysit Phoenix. He agrees because he doesn’t get to leave his pack very often. When he arrives, there is a woman with Phoenix, and he is bowled over when she looks at him.

Ladon’s best friend is a polar bear shifter named Link, who was accepted into their wolf pack after suffering years of abuse from his parents for being gay. Link is mated to one of the wolf shifters in their pack, named Baker. Like the previous books, there are a lot of great supporting characters in this book, Solomon is always my favorite.

I liked the fact that though the two main characters are attracted to each other from the start, they become best friends really quickly. The story about someone or some group hunting members of the pack is really good, and I like how Ladon and Gen come together. Their romance is a good one and this was one of the best stories of the series so far. This series isn’t really erotic romance even though each couple does come together and get intimate in each book, the scenes aren’t explicit like in some romance novels.

This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration. It was narrated by Sarah Colton and Troy Duran. I really like both of these narrators; Sarah Colton has clear and feminine voice. Troy Duran is one of my favorite male narrators, his voice is deep and sexy, and I love just about anything he narrates. Both are terrific at showing emotions through their voices.
