Denying Davian by Michelle Dare
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Davian’s life hadn’t been easy.
Denying Davian
After two near-death experiences, he held on to his optimism, even if danger still had a way of finding him.
Beneath her kind exterior, Robin was in unbelievable pain after losing her best friend. Sheer determination kept her going, even when she wanted to give up.
Then Davian appeared with his infectious smile and cheerful demeanor.
They were an unlikely pair.
One was a panther shifter and the other a fae princess. However, Robin didn’t want a mate, so she pushed Davian away at every turn. Too bad for her, he wasn’t the type to give up.
When an outside threat found its way to the fae realm, Davian leapt into action.
Fate had a way of placing paranormals where they were meant to be.
It was time for Robin to realize her destiny before it was too late.
The panther shifter and the fae princess!

The Hero: Davian – he is a black panther shifter. He was in a car accident and nearly killed by the mate of a friend of his who died in the pack wars. She blamed him for her mate’s death because Davian was there at the same time and place and wasn’t able to save him. After Davian recovered from the accident, he and his father decided to go to Europe on an extended vacation.
The heroine: Robin – she is a fae princess who was kidnapped and tortured by her sister and her sister’s mate. Her best friend Wyatt, a bear shifter was with her when she was kidnapped, and he was murdered. Robin has been in seclusion in the fae realm at the palace since she was recovered. Her sister and her mate are being held in fae jail for what they did. Robin has been in pain and hasn’t really been able to live since then.
The Story: Davian and his father decide to go visit Robin and when they are at the door, her mother, the queen of the fae, tells Robin that Davian is there and that he means more to her than just a friend. Robin wants to see Davian, but is not ready for a mate. She decides to be just friends with him and makes sure not to touch him since shifters can tell their mate when they touch each other.
It isn’t long before Davian and Robin realize they are most likely fated to each other. She still isn’t quite ready for a mate, but being with Davian makes her feel better and she wants him to stay for a while. Then a fae woman dies in the fae realm for no reason. The Queen and King don’t know how she could have died, since the fae don’t get sick and they are basically immortal. Robin and Davian agree to look into the death and make sure it can’t happen again.
The King tells them a story about a plague that once killed a bunch of fae. It was started by the Kings brother Brix, who was raised to think they were evil. The King had to kill his brother and another fae who helped him in order to put an end to the plague. He tells them that the same smell that they encountered at the dead fae’s home was present back then when the plague was occurring.
This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration. It was narrated by Sarah Colton and Troy Duran. I really like both of these narrators; Sarah Colton has clear and feminine voice. Troy Duran is one of my favorite male narrators, his voice is deep and sexy, and I love just about anything he narrates. Both are terrific at showing emotions through their voices.
