Audiobook Review: Tempting Titus (Paranormals of Avynwood, #6). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Tempting Titus by Michelle Dare

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Life seemed to be moving in the right direction at last. Then the fires started.

As a wolf shifter with vampire gifted powers, Titus was better equipped to handle emergencies than others. But he wasn’t invincible.

Imogen was a typical senior in high school—except she was a powerful mage hiding in plain sight. When Titus showed up after class to help a pack brother, Imogen’s world was rocked.

Never had she met someone like him.

With the paranormal community under threat, their homes and businesses going up in flames, Imogen wasn’t worried. Too bad her abilities didn’t equal safety.

The magnetism between Titus and Imogen was potent from the start. Both tried to fight it. But fate had a different plan for them—a perilous one.

The world was burning around them. Everyone Titus and Imogen loved was at risk.

When the ashes cooled and the dust settled, they would find out if their love survived fate’s test.

The Hero: Titus – he is a wolf shifter and recently found out he is brother to Kandra from the last book in the series. When Kandra needed him, he was gifted powers from a vampire to help in finding and freeing her. He belongs to the Avynwood pack and lives at the mansion. He is also a fireman. He loves what he does and doesn’t want to give it up but he has been with his station for 10 years now and pretty soon they will notice that he doesn’t age.

The heroine: Imogen – she is 18 years old and a powerful mage. She pretends to be a human and is still in high school. She wishes she could tell her friends what she can do, but paranormals must stay in the shadows. Mage’s are paranormal, they live longer lives than shifters, they can’t heal themselves like shifters, they use potions for that but since her mom’s vampire friend gifted them the power to heal, they can now do that.

The Story: Imogen gets hit on over and over by one of the most popular guys in school, but she wants none of that. She knows he isn’t her mate and doesn’t want anything to do with humans as her life when she finishes high school will be in the paranormal world.

Titus has to go to the high school to pick up his friend who is working as a substitute teacher. On the way there, he thinks about three recent fires in buildings owned by paranormals, which were arson. He thinks someone may be targeting paranormals. When he gets to the school, he meets his friend Carter in the parking lot and takes a look at Carter’s broken-down vehicle. That is where he meets Imogen for the first time. She knocks the air right out of his lungs.

I would have liked this story more if there wasn’t so much stress about Imogen’s age. She is almost nineteen but still in high school because she had to take some time off due to the pack wars. Also, I didn’t like the fact that they purposely wouldn’t touch each other for so long because as a wolf shifter, Titus would know from a skin-to-skin touch if they were fated mates or not.

This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration. It was narrated by Sarah Colton and Troy Duran. I really like both of these narrators; Sarah Colton has clear and feminine voice. Troy Duran is one of my favorite male narrators, his voice is deep and sexy, and I love just about anything he narrates. Both are terrific at showing emotions through their voices.
