He’ll move mountains for her…
The Mountain’s Mate
When Patrek, a giant Skarr alien, hires a human for a covert mission, he doesn’t expect a female to take the gig. Nor does he expect his long-dormant mating instinct to ignite for someone so tiny! When the heist goes awry and they’re forced to hide out together until the heat dies down, the close quarters reveal that, though they’re vastly mismatched in size, their hearts are a perfect fit.
To escape with his freedom, Patrek must flee the city. But leaving her behind will break him. Can he convince her to join him in the mountains and take a monster as her mate?
The Mountain’s Mate is a steamy, fated-mates alien romance with a huge helping of size-difference!
Very different!

Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘

Character development: 🤨😟😳🥰
The heroine: Maja – she is a human who lives on a planet with a few different humanoid species. There are the Skarr, who are 14 feet tall, with red skin and tusks, there are also the Nightborn who sleep during the day and only come out at night to drink the blood of the humans. Maja is alone and doesn’t have anyone protecting her so she has to be in her apartment with the door locked at night. However, she rescued a creature that had a damaged wing and spent her rent money on his care, so her Nightborn landlord has been bothering her for the money.
The Hero: Patrek – He is a Skarr and though his people will die out after this generation, due to the fact that all their females have died, they still try to protect the exploited species on the planet. Many of the Skarr get jobs as guards or protectors to wealthy humans. He works for a wealthy man who likes to keep all kinds of exotic creatures, even illegal and sentient ones. Patrek is working for him to try to find the market where illegal pets are sold. So he wants to put a tracker on an Impran and set it free to track where it is sold if it is caught again.
The Story: For Patrek to put the tracker on the creature without getting caught by the security camera’s, he needs a small human to wear a costume. Dressed as another creature, the human can get close to the Impran and put the tracking collar on it. So he offers a hefty sum to help him and Maja is the human that applies for the job.
I love alien romance so I thought this would be an odd one and it really was. I mean it is basically a love story between a giant and a small human. I was wondering how things would work out on an intimate level, and let’s just say they get inventive. Especially since the book describes his package as being as big as her torso and head.
“Is this some kind of kinky thing? You know it won’t fit, so don’t even try it.”
The story was pretty short and it was interesting. The world building was good, the romance was cute, despite the dirty scenes, and they were quite dirty. I don’t think I would read a whole series of this but it was certainly a fun diversion, and it looks like there are only two books in this series anyway.
