Audiobook Review: Cyborg’s Secret Baby (Interstellar Brides: The Colony, #7). ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Cyborg’s Secret Baby by Grace Goodwin

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Atlan Warlord Jorik guards the Coalition Fleet’s Processing Center on Earth, protecting warriors and brides without mercy or distraction…until he sees Gabriela. She is everything the beast within him craves. Soft. Curved. Unafraid. He dreams of courting her properly, wooing her into accepting his beast’s claim, and making her his—body and soul. Danger strikes and his beast takes control—resulting in his immediate removal from Earth. From Gabriela.

Gabriela fell in love with an alien Warlord who fought to save her life, then disappeared, only to learn he was later killed in a battle with the Hive. She moves on with her life as best she can, with one beautiful reminder of their time together. A baby.

When she learns Jorik isn’t dead, but banished to the Colony, she and the baby are sent to find him. The problem? He’s not just contaminated, he’s been newly matched by the Interstellar Brides Program. And not to her.

Cyborg’s Secret Baby

Not my favorite from this series!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙❤️💚
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘
World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌎
Character development: 🙃😊😉
Narration: 🎙🎙
Narration Type: Dual Narration

The Hero: Jorik – he is an Atlan warlord who guards the coalition’s processing center on Earth. Being an Atlan warlord means that he has a beast inside him (like the Hulk), who only comes out in times of stress or arousal. When he first sees Gabriela, Jorik knows that she is his, and he starts courting her, going to her ice cream store.

The heroine: Gabreila – everyday on the way to Sweet Treats Ice Cream store where she worked, she walked past the Interstellar Brides processing center and saw warlord Jorik. She wasn’t frightened by Jorik and liked seeing him come to the shop. She gave him a new flavor of ice cream each time he came into the shop.

The Story: One day when only Jorik and Gabriela were at her ice cream shop, a man with a gun came in to rob the store and Jorik saved Gabriela when he turned into his beast and ripped the robber’s head from his body. Jorik immediately takes Gabriela to her home, and they hook up. One thing I didn’t like about this book was the fact that it lingered a bit longer than the others in this series about Gabriella being overweight. I really don’t want to hear about how heroine’s fat jiggles. I don’t mind if a heroine is a BBW, but I don’t like too much emphasis on it in a story.

Jorik got into trouble for not being able to control his beast and ripping the head off of the human robber. He was sent away to serve the rest of his time in the military, leaving Gabriela on Earth. Four weeks later, she was pregnant and found out that Jorik was removed from Earth due to the charges against him and he has since been listed as missing in action (captured by the Hive).

I won’t give away much more of the plot, but as you can guess, they end up seeing each other again. The story is interesting, and I liked that this one started on Earth which was different than any of the previous books in this series. These books are quite steamy, and I do like the fact that these Atlan warlords go into beast mode. They are pretty fascinating aliens, especially once they are corrupted with the hive technology, which made Jorik even stronger than he was before.

This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration. It was narrated by Honey Jones and Carey Hite. Carey has a very deep voice that works for a massive Atlan warrior. Honey has a soft, clear voice. Though neither of these are on my list of favorite narrators, they don’t really speak naturally, you can easily tell that they are reading, and it began to bother me more as the story went along. I have to admit though, I like the fact that this series is narrated by different narrators for each book.
