Scarlet Angel by S.T. Abby
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
To kill a monster, you have to be twice as monstrous. To love a monster, you have to share your soul . . .
Scarlet Angel
Logan Bennett makes me want to have a future not tainted by the constant hunger for revenge. Doesn’t mean I can stop. Doesn’t mean I want to stop. It just means I want more . . . one day.
But how do you make a good man love the monster inside you without stripping his soul away as well?
He is all the best parts of me right now, resurrecting bits of my heart I forgot could even exist. He makes me feel something other than cold. He also thinks I’m weak and fragile. Something I laugh about to myself, while secretly soaking in all his protectiveness and concern.
If anyone touches him, harms him, or even threatens him, then they should probably run. Because his girlfriend is a little bit crazy. They just don’t know it yet.
Awesome story!

Narration Type: Dual Narration
The heroine: Lana Myers – she is a serial killer who is dating an FBI agent. She is genuinely attracted to him, and he makes her happy, she isn’t using him to get updates on her case. He makes her feel things she hasn’t felt in over ten years since the incident occurred when she was sixteen. He is making her whole again, though getting revenge on all those that hurt her, and her family is also what is helping to make her whole.
The Hero: Logan Bennett – he is a lead FBI agent and a profiler. He works multiple cases at a time and right now the highest priority case is that of a serial killer of women that is called the boogeyman. The boogeyman has sent a direct threat to Logan, and he thinks that the killer will try to get to him through his girlfriend Lana.
The Story: The boogeyman is an extremely intelligent killer and has gotten away with much more than he should have. Though Logan and his team know his name, they haven’t been able to catch him yet and the killer has gotten to them through an agent when he kidnapped the agents teenaged daughter. The last book ended with a huge cliffhanger (which I don’t want to spoil), so suffice it to say, one of our main characters is in a bit of a pickle as this book started.
Like I said in my review of the last book, I really like the investigations into different serial killings by the FBI. There is a lot of mystery and suspense. Now they are really getting into the investigation of the murders that Lana is committing and and dealing with some of the police and the FBI agent that investigated the serial killings that Lana’s dad was put away for. It is obvious that he was railroaded so it all kept my attention and had me on the edge of my seat.
This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration. It was narrated by Marie Hawkins and TJ Clark. Marie Hawkins has a very nice voice and I like her more as the series progresses. TJ Clark has a nice gravelly voice which isn’t as deep as I usually like, but that means his female voice is a bit better than most.
