Review: Sidetracked (Mindf*ck, #2). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sidetracked by S.T. Abby

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

They always want to break me, but I’m too strong now. Untouchable.
Or at least I was…until her.

LOGAN

I’ve had tunnel vision for one main goal for so long, that I forgot there was a whole other world just outside. Until Lana.

She’s everything I never expected, and I love the fact I can never guess her every move or reaction. It’s part of the reason I keep falling. But I also know she shuts me out, hides things from me she feels she can’t share.

One day, I hope she trusts me enough to share.

It isn’t until my job puts her at risk that I realize just how fierce she is, but it doesn’t stop me from doing all I can to protect her. I should walk away to protect her better, but I can’t. Instead, I’m forced to find other ways to keep her safe.

I just hope it’s enough.

Though she is fierce, she’s still fragile…

Right?

Sidetracked

Criminal Minds combined with Dexter (If Debra was the serial killer).

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙💚❤️💜💖
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌎🌍
Character development: ☺️🙃😳🥰🤓

The heroine: Lana Myers – she owns and online business buying, selling and managing trades of items. She comes from a small town where something terrible happened to her and her family and the act was perpetrated by a bunch of guys from her hometown. Lana has a kill list with their names and has been making her way through her list enacting bloody vengeance.

The Hero: Logan Bennett – he is an FBI agent and a profiler. He is working on a number of different cases at once. One of them is a serial killer called the Boogeyman, one is a serial killer who has murdered and mutilated a bunch of men, and there are others. Logan is very good at his job and often sees things that others miss.

The Story: Lana and Logan have been dating for a while now and he has told her about his boogeyman case. Lana took some profiling classes in college and is nearly as good at profiling as Logan is. She is afraid the Boogeyman will be going after Logan, so she plans to go after him first. Also, a woman on Logan’s team looked into Lana, she knows Lana isn’t totally on the up and up.

I like that Lana is the one that is the serial killer in this series. She is very smart and prepared, and she is good at hiding what she is. Though I do feel bad for Logan, because if it ever came out that he was dating and practically living with one of the very same killers he is chasing, it would make him look completely incompetent and for that reason Lana should really break things off with him, but she doesn’t hardly think of things that way.

I have to admit this series is much different than I expected from the titles of the books and the series. Also, I have seen so many reviews, and I haven’t read much of them since I knew I wanted to read this series, so I didn’t want to know too much. But I have seen the how much people really liked it and I can see why. It is a combination of Criminal Minds and Dexter (if Debra was the serial killer instead of Dexter). I am loving the hunt for the boogeyman and this one has a killer cliffhanger.
