Audiobook Review: The Wolf’s Royal Baby (Marked and Mated, #1). ⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Wolf’s Royal Baby by Milly Taiden

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Harper Burns was just abducted from her house by four big, bad shifters. When she finds out her father traded her for his life to a wolf king, she’s ready to escape. Even more confusing is the fact Sebastian tells her she must have his baby. The craziest part is she’s actually considering it. Clearly, she lost her mind on the car ride to the castle. Sebastian Roarhart is shifter royalty. He’s been cursed and needs to have a child or die. Now, he has to convince Harper to see him as more than some man holding her hostage. He needs her to fall for him. But it’s harder than he realizes when someone in his castle keeps trying to kill her. Sebastian has secrets he’s keeping to save Harper from heartache. Harper knows one thing for sure: she can’t let him die. Not when he’s the first man in her life to show her how special she is. Time’s running out. When truths come to light about her family and past, only the man she’s come to love will be able to keep her safe.

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: ❤️💙💚
Steam: 🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘
World building: 🌏🌍🌏
Character development: 😠☺️😋
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Solo Narration

The heroine: Harper Burns – she worked from home, updating web sites. Her father sent a letter, wanting her help. She didn’t quite know what to do since he was never much of a father and usually only wanted help in the form of money. When three large men come to her house and tell her that she needs to come with them.

The Hero: Sebastian Roarhart – he was shifter royalty. He met Harper once, at a prom which he attended as a chaperone for his sister. His parents died soon after and he ended up scarred. A fire, caused by his father’s worst enemy and the witch he was sleeping with. They placed a curse on the firstborn, saying he would die by his 35th birthday if he didn’t have a child by his fated mate. He knew Harper was his mate, he hadn’t wanted her to have a monster as a mate, so took time to heal.

The Story: The three guys that came to Harper’s house were strange and one had something happen to his face which made him look animalistic. They were shifters. She knew she was screwed and went with them. She didn’t know yet, but her father owed Sebastian millions of dollars and in order to keep him alive, she would need to give Sebastian a baby.

The story could have been more interesting, there wasn’t much of a side storyline other than the fact that Sebastian tried to get to know Harper better so that she would agree to have his baby. There was a bit about someone trying to kill her but that was pretty minor and obvious.

This book is told in dual points of view via solo narration and was narrated by Patrick Zeller. Patrick has a very deep voice, which I like. He sounded cultured which went well with the character. Though I like dual or duet narration better, I did like his voice.
