Tiger’s shock quickly turns to intense passion when the human female kisses him, despite the fact she’s trying to get his clothes off while he’s engaged in a task force operation. He’s also made it clear he’ll never take a mate. Rather difficult when he and Zandy can’t keep their hands off each other. The taste and feel of his little human just leaves Tiger wanting more.

The Hero: Tiger – He is New Species with large cat DNA and is the head of security at the NSO Reservation compound. He is a bit of a player and doesn’t want to settle down with a female. Though from the first time he meets Zandy, he is very attracted to her and can’t seem to keep his hands off her.
The heroine: Zandy – She is human who has been twice divorced and has a home in the town right outside of Reservation and one night she is at a local bar when a huge bar fight happens. She is knocked out and trampled, though the local Sheriff has called for help by New Species. Tiger sees Zandy go down and rescues her. Things get a bit steamy in the parking lot. Later, Zandy gets an office job at Reservation and again meets Tiger.
The Story: It isn’t long before Zandy and Tiger start a secret affair. They meet in the forest to hook up every night. During the day when they pass each other or are in the cafeteria, they act like they don’t know each other. Things get hot and heavy between them very quickly.
When Justice North and Jesse announce that they have mated to the media, the human haters who demonstrate outside Homeland and Reservation start to get out of hand and one day when Zandy and her human co-worker are returning to Reservation, they are attacked. I like that this book has made these haters a bigger part of the story, since this would probably be similar to how humans would act in real life, there are a lot of haters in this world, groups of people who are racist today would probably be these same groups.
I like that we got to know Vengeance better in this book and I wish he had his own story, though I looked and none of the other New Species books are his. I hope he somehow finds a human mate in one of these books, because his is a sad story and all he wants is someone to love.

This book is told in dual points of view via solo narration and was narrated by Vanessa Chambers. Vanessa’s voice is terrific, it is soft and feminine, and she is fantastic at doing a bunch of different voices for different characters. For a book that only has one narrator, she is a great choice.
