DaR
In the blink of an eye, my whole world has collapsed around me. Headed towards my dream vacation I was snatched right out of the air. My husband, the love of my life, was destroyed right in front of my eyes. He fought bravely trying to protect me from a horror neither one of us could have ever imagined. I find myself standing in the spotlight on a stage. Mutilated and tortured, the blood from my body flowing freely down my legs along with my will to live. Piercing yellow eyes emerge from the darkness, but even the shadows can’t hide his imposing form. Gentle, but terrifying arms reach out for me, and within their embrace can I find the will to live again?
DaR
I am a badass, known throughout the galaxy for my brutality, as a ruthless and feared commander. With that being said, somehow I still got coerced into purchasing a slave. My eyes fall upon a small female who’s very essence and eternal light is leaking out of her onto the floor below her. I watch in awe as she accepts her fate, willing her nightmare to be over. I almost turn away from her and the unnecessary cruelly in this room, but the very thought of her dying on that floor surrounded by the very monsters that have done this to her disgust me. I walk up among the beings surrounding her and pull her from the stage, daring, or should I say hoping they try to do something about it. The moment I put her in my arms, everything changes. The attachments I have avoided my whole life become unavoidable. Will this damaged slave be able to replace the shadows in my life? One thing for sure is that I will destroy the entire universe to keep her safe. No one touches what’s MINE!
Original Story and a high tech alien world!

Romance: ❤️💙💜💚💖

Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌎🌍
Character development: 😠☺️😋
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Dual Narration
The heroine: Kira – she is a human who married the love of her life and has grown children. Her and her husband Rick get on an airplane on the way to go on a cruise and while flying over the Bermuda triangle, the plane comes to a dead stop after a shadow appears over them. The top of the plane is ripped open and alien creatures come aboard capturing all the women on board and killing her husband in the process.
The Hero: DaR – He is a brutal warrior and commander and has attained the highest status in his galaxy, as the head of the House of DaR. He has 22 sons by different mothers, each of them having mixed heritage and different abilities. They are all different colors and sizes. He has an AI named Sage in his house who is part of his family. She tells him to attend a slave auction to see if he can purchase then free one of the slaves to have them help out in his home for pay.
The Story: The aliens that captured Kira and the women from the plane torture them, kill some of them and auction off the ones that are still alive. While Kira is on the block, a huge alien comes into the room and makes the monsters that took her cower. He has a huge axe fastened to his back. The will to fight has left Kira when her turn comes up. She hums to herself to distract her from what is happening. DaR is impressed by her and buys her.
DaR is very worried about Kira’s mind and the poor state of her body after he leaves with Kira. She nearly dies from blood loss, has broken ribs, a punctured lung and her entire back is shredded. He sits by her side as she is put into a healing chamber, and he is surprised by his interest in her. He shuts down that slave market afterwards and is determined to find out more about Kira’s species and her planet.
I love that this series has an advanced race with cool gadgets and things. I am getting sick of alien romance where humans end up on a barbarian planet where they live in a civilization like the dark ages. This was fun, the AI in the house could create new rooms like a hospital room or things like a table or a kitchen island with just a command. DaR has sym-bots on his person that come out at different times and can be dangerous in a fight or help out at other times.
This book is told in multiple points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Emily Sutton-Smith and Tor Thom. I love Tor Thom, especially for alien and paranormal romance, he has a super deep voice that is perfect for these large aliens. I already listened to book 4 of this series and it was my first with Emily Sutton-Smith as narrator, at first I thought her voice was a bit low, but now that I am used to her voice, I find that I am enjoying it more. She has a good cadence and flow as well as a very pleasant voice. Though I didn’t like the accent she had in this book.
