The heroine: Nadine – she works for the government, as a US Marshall tracking down and capturing escaped convicts. She is after a bad one, he worked as a dominant in a BDSM club and he whipped, beat and strangled a girl that was his submissive. Nadine has a big hate on for this guy since he did such terrible things to a girl that was under his control and whom he was supposed to protect.

The Hero: Adrien – he is a dominant and a sadist. He was in jail for ten years for murdering his submissive, Lori. Though he did whip her and bruise her, he didn’t kill her. She was a masochist and wanted him to go further, though he wouldn’t draw blood like she wanted. He was going to propose to her when he was framed for her murder. So he escaped from jail and fled to the tropics.

The Story: Nadine and her partner get their guy and are flying him back to the states when there is a problem with the plane. The pilots have to make an emergency landing and the plane crashes near an uninhabited island. They tried to communicate that they were going down but don’t know if air traffic control got the message. Nadine and Adrien are the only survivors.

Adrien wants to punish Nadine for how she caught him and treated him, and he has the upper hand since he outweighs her by about a hundred pounds and is far taller than she. He is determined to exert his control over her and train her to obey him. Though I hate it when the heroine is forced to obey the Hero or get punished, this is quite an interesting story. It is also super steamy. He never rapes her though he does touch her against her will in the beginning and he punishes her severely (he fully admits he is a sadist, and it turns him on).

Of course, the story is interesting because they are trying to make a life on this deserted island, which was once home to a geological research team or person. So, the island is uninhabited, but there is a small building and some rough supplies that were left behind. Though there are also dangers and Nadine is missing many of her conveniences from home. I liked the story and I enjoy the tropical island getaway feel after reading so many books that take place in the city.
