Pursued by Presley Hall
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This alien warrior is roguish, charming, and way more experienced than I am.
Pursued
Maybe he’s exactly what I need.
All the other women who were abducted from Earth have gotten to make a fresh start on Kalix, but with my overprotective sister always hovering nearby, I feel like I’m stuck in the past—still the naïve little girl Brielle has to look out for.
But everything changes when a lost warrior named Zatir returns home. The mate bond sparks between us, and suddenly, my entire world is turned upside down.
Brielle wants me to deny the bond. She warns me that it could be dangerous to fall in love too fast, and given my past mistakes, I know she has a point.
Unfortunately, a warrior as fierce as Zatir has more enemies than he can count. When a bounty hunter tracks him down on Kalix, we’re thrust into a heart-pounding chase across the stars. As the two of us visit strange planets and evade new threats, I realize that this gorgeous warrior sees me in a way no one else ever has.
With him, I can be the person I always wanted to be.
If we manage to survive.
Space adventure!

Narration Type: Dual Narration
The heroine: Nadia – After being abducted from Earth by aliens and rescued by the Kalixians, Nadia has watched many of the other human females find their fated mates and settle down to live full lives. However, she didn’t bond with any of the Kalixians and continues to live in her older sister, Brielle’s shadow on Kalix. Nadia loves how the Kalixians seem to revere their mates and treat them so well, always touching them and looking at them with hearts in their eyes. She wants nothing more for herself.
The Hero: Zatir – He makes a triumphant return to Kalix after everyone there thought he had died, shocking everyone. The last anyone had known was that he and his squadron had been attacked and overpowered by Orkun ships years ago. Zatir feels as if it was yesterday and is still feeling the losses of the majority of his squadron. Since then, he has been trying to return but kept finding opportunities to go up against the Orkun. He was sabotaging their allies and skirmishing along their supply lines for the last three years.
The Story: This is the tenth book in the series, and I have read all the previous books, so I took quite a long break between the last book and this one. I was pleasantly surprised that this one is quite different than any of the prior books. Zatir is quite a character, he is dangerous, and has a lot of enemies, one of them sent bounty hunters to find him and the hunters chase them through space, so this turned out to be quite an adventure.
I didn’t like Nadia’s deference to her sister Brielle at the beginning of this story. Brielle is over-protective of her sister and makes all the decisions for the both of them. Nadia, not wanting to upset her sister, still defers to Brielle’s decision even when she wanted to do something different. In the past Nadia was a model and Brielle had custody of her and when her ex-boyfriend beats Nadia, Brielle started to make all the decisions, not trusting Nadia to make her own. So, I was happy when Nadia stood up for herself.
This book was told in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Meg Price and C.J. Grey. Meg Price has a very pleasant-sounding voice and does the voice acting thing pretty well. She is able to show emotions well through her voice, especially anxiety and happiness. C.J. Grey has a nice deep gravelly voice which lends itself well to alien males.
