Nice start!
This was a short but very good prequel to Broken Beginnings. It details the first meeting between Lucca and Claire when she is 10 and he is 18. He is just starting out as a Mafia Enforcer and loves his job a bit too much. However, he is good at it and he is seen at home after buying his first house.
Lucca grew up as a foster kid so never had a place to call home. He meets his neighbor, a little girl who likes to come out to talk to him when her Dad isn’t home. Lucca feels protective of Claire and wants to help her since she seems very lonely. I am starting Broken Beginnings right away. 🙂
