Enjoyable quick read romance.
This is a nice short book with a good storyline. Vanessa has been so focused on her career that she hasn’t been out on a date for years. So at a company event, her best friend dares her to take a guy home for a one night stand. They have a policy of not turning down dares sine they were college roommates without severe penalties. So she meets Enrique and takes him home.
Monday morning at work she finds that Enrique is the new intern at work. However, they decide to continue seeing each other. Though Enrique has secrets of his own that he can’t reveal to Vanessa and he is afraid that when she finds out, she will not want to be with him.
This was why she’d always chosen to focus on her career … These feelings sucked. Hard. She heard a key enter the lock, and knew Ella had arrived, using her emergency key rather than knocking.
Vanessa peered over the cover to see her friend bust into the door with a pint of Mint Chocolate Chip in one hand and a handgun in the other. “Which one do we need?” Ella asked, her face seriously pissed.
The storyline is not out of the park original, but it had some steamy love scenes and was good for a short read. I sometimes just don’t feel like getting into a 300-500 page book, so these are nice for times like that.
