Preppy: The Life & Death of Samuel Clearwater, Part Three by T.M. Frazier
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
The bowtie is BACK!
Dre was just a beautiful stranger when Preppy saved her the first time around. Now, he has to save her again, but she’s no longer some stranger, she’s family, and he has no idea who or what he’s up against.
What he does know is that putting his family back together is the only acceptable outcome.
Preppy’s to-do list?
SAVE FAMILY. SEEK REVENGE.
He’s alive…and he’s out for BLOOD.

I feel invested in these lives when reading this series

This series is one of the best I have ever read. The story of Preppy throughout this entire series has been so emotional. Since the first book, he was so unbelievably funny and genuine that I just couldn’t help but love him. Then after what happened to him it was so terribly sad not only for me, because I liked him so much but for all the other characters who were so shaken by the events of that day.
I think Prep is literally my favorite character of all time. When I get asked the question of which fictional character I would like to spend time with in real life, Preppy wins hands down. He is the best character by far. He definitely is the funniest and most upbeat even despite what he has gone through in his life. He is also one of the most loyal characters, not only to King but to Doe and all the supporting characters.
“Ummm…what the hell is that?” Kevin asked, looking at the table in the trailer.
“Manure,” I answered.
“Really?”
“No. Not really,” I sighed. “It’s a body-shaped plastic bag, Kevin. What the fuck do you think it is?” I snapped my fingers in front of his face to get his attention. “Now listen up, Daniel-son.”
“Who is it?” Kevin asked, entirely too focused on what was going on in the trailer. His gaze followed Jake’s every move as he sharpened one of the knives from the wall with a steel sharpener.
“The dead have no names,” I said.
“That’s a line from Game of Thrones,” Kevin pointed out.
“That doesn’t mean it’s not true.”
To find out he is alive, is awesome but also the journey back is a total tear-jerker at times, because he has to go through so much, because he missed so much while he was gone, like Grace’s death, and his entire world has basically changed. He was living with his friend King and King’s girlfriend, Bear stayed in the Garage and they partied all the time. He returns to a home where King and Doe have 3 kids living in King and Preppy’s house, and Bear has a pregnant girlfriend.
Tears welled up in his eyes. He cleared his throat and leaned in close so that his cheek was touching mine. “Okay, I’ll tell you.” He sighed. “Your injuries are the product of a horrible sex swing accident. The nurse said it was the worst one the hospital has ever seen. Don’t you worry your pretty head though. They’ve successfully retrieved the gerbil. He’s a bit shaken up, but they think he’s going to pull through.” I laughed, because it was Preppy and impossible not to.
Even though Dre and Preppy are now together and adopting Bo, the emotions run high in this one. There is someone still out to get them and they don’t know who it is. Preppy has a new brother that he doesn’t know much about and the guys still don’t know all the people involved in the coverup to fake Preppy’s death. Suffice it to say, I laughed, I cried and I totally loved it.
