Serial, Volume Two by Lily White
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Things are heating up and getting very interesting.
The story is moving forward and the romance between Jude and Ronnie (a.k.a. Pet) is advancing. Ronnie believes everything Jude tells her at first and sees him as the Hero that saved her life, which he actually did. However, what she doesn’t realize is that he also kidnapped her and is holding her and wouldn’t let her leave even if she wanted to. So it is probably good that she doesn’t want to.
By the time she realizes who he is, she has fallen for him and he is already her “safe place” so to speak, so even though he tells her he might not be able to stop himself from hurting her, they take their relationship to the next level. The problem is that Jude’s love for her and her feelings for him don’t seem to curb his crazy.
Jude still has pressure behind his eyes and the “red haze” which wants blood and needs him to kill in order for him to get relief. He feels if he doesn’t then his “Pet” will be at risk and he wants to keep her safe from himself.

The book also continues to follow the FBI case of The CK (Cascades Killer), who they as of yet have no clue is Jude. Agent Donovan Blake is a jerk and describes himself as being very much like the men he hunts aside from the fact he does his hunting behind the safety of the bureau. He is having a torrid affair with his underling agent Emily Chase, whom he treats like crap in front of the other male members of the team and is dominating in the bedroom, which I guess she likes, but it all seems crazy to me, so maybe he is a lot like Jude.
The story also followed this other couple on and off throughout the book which turned out to intersect with some of our main characters toward the end, right before the cliffhanger. So it is on to the next book. The storyline has been so intriguing, and steamy and at this point I just don’t know who or what I am rooting for. Though I do know that I hate the FBI guy Blake, so I hope he doesn’t catch the CK.
