Dirty Riding by Skye Darrel

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Very steamy little road story

This book was a bit unbelievable at times, the storyline was almost silly like a porno in its unrealistic stylishness, but the chemistry between the two main characters was certainly present and there were a lot of sizzling scenes between them. The Hero Luke, is a former member of a Motorcycle Club and the MC president he followed was a woman, nicknamed Mama. She was killed and a guy name Johann took over and turned the MC from a club that did good work in the surrounding cities to an Outlaw MC that ran drugs with members that turned into vicious hired hitmen.

Luke liked the old club so was on the outs with the MC. He stole three million dollars from them and after a shootout only he, Johann and two of Johann’s men were left. So Luke took off with the cash in the trunk of a brand new Escalade. Johann and the two heavies are out to find him and the cash. He stops at a Walmart for supplies and sees a young woman, Piper, shoplifting and is immediately attracted to her. They end up traveling together.

The storyline is fine for the most part, I just think the whole part where everything comes to a head and the bad guys catch up to them is a bit crazy because there are police involved and it all comes out a bit too clean. Then again that happens in the movies sometimes also, so go figure. Since it is paired with a lot of steamy, raunchy, smutty action between the two main characters, it seems less like a blockbuster and more like a B movie or a porno, or whatever is comparable in book terms.

Though it kept me interested, it was fairly short and very hot. The Hero fell in love fast but he really liked her a lot and was very attracted to her all throughout the book. The epilogues were a nice touch also. Those showed more to the story, I enjoyed those.
